Ethos Music Center supervisor Charles Lewis had a impassive wall, a donated door and a storage conundrum: what to do with all the disparate drum parts that were clogging his pursuit rooms.

Lewis and his stake decided to create a drum close off -- literally -- out of the dozens of donated toms and basses that may someday clothing budding musicians in necessary.

The drums -- both youngster- and adult-size -- were carefully stacked and zip-tied together. The without a scratch contraption, in turn, was zip-tied to eye-hooks fastened into the protection so it wouldn't fall over.

In, Lewis had thought about edifice the wall itself out of the drums, but that would promise saying goodbye to the drums as implied music-makers.

These drums could someday become the backbones of bands and orchestras, garage bands, even later rock stars.

So Lewis came up with another scheme:

After trying to stack the drums in part of the country, Lewis and his staff quick discovered it was much easier to lay the drums on the train and fit them together like pieces to a figure out. The entire process took about two weeks, but the consequence was worth it, he says. "We saved a ton of accommodation by having them go vertical," he says. "We'll perhaps do similar things with other walls."
